What Is It?
Glycerinated macerates are liquid preparations resulting from the solvent action of a mixture of equal parts alcohol and glycerine, on substances of plant
origin (buds, young shoots, or more rarely, rootlets, seeds, or bark).
Preparation of Glycerinated Macerates from Buds
The preparation of glycerinated macerates is done in containers or with materials as chemically inert as possible.
To prepare the first decimal dilution (D1) from a glycerinated macerate, the following mixture (by mass) is used:
- 50 parts glycerin
- 30 parts 95% alcohol
- 20 parts purified water
Store your glycerinated macerates away from heat, light (preferably in a brown bottle), and moisture. Keep bottles tightly closed to avoid possible alcohol
evaporation.
