Brief History of their Use
In 1872, Dr. Wilhelm Schuessler, a homeopathic physician practicing in Oldenburg, began using, in his daily practice, the 12 essential salts
found in animal and human tissues. He believed that illness resulted from a deficiency of one or more of these salts and that supplementing the
body with the deficient substance could lead to healing.
Dr. Schuessler also believed that large doses of the salts could lead to intoxication and therefore decided to dilute them to a 6x homeopathic
potency. Schuessler salts follow the same principles as homeopathy (absorption by perlingual route), but act solely on the organic and functional
levels, since they are highly diluted (D6).
Schuessler salts in D6 potency therefore act on levels 1 and 2. They do not have an impact on the psychosensory system.
