Ecology and Phytosociology

Although the almond tree normally grows in North Africa and Western Asia, many varieties are cultivated in the South of France. Its very hard and heavy wood can be easily polished, but tends to split and twist, like the grapevine, with which it grows in the South of France, as well as the olive tree.
