Ecology and Phytosociology

A hardy species, the silver linden requires deep, fresh and divided soil. Its reddish-white wood is of mediocre quality. It can live for many centuries. It grows in calcareous oak-ash stands, sub-mountainous ash stands and in Sessile, calcareous oak stands.
